Samsung Galaxy S UK Variants Already Receiving Froyo OTA Update

November 4, 2010, By Atul Roach

I feel so damn lucky to posses a Samsung Galaxy S when I come across news like this. You already know that the Galaxy S has become the first smartphone to be certified as WiFi Direct and now there is more coming in for the Galaxy S owners in the UK. Ahead of schedule, the Android 2.2 Froyo update which wasn’t to hit the Galaxy S variants anywhere in the world for a week, has already invaded a couple of handsets in the UK.

The source quoting this information is certain about these recipients of the update which has been rendered via the OTA medium and not the Kies porting platform. With the English owners of the Galaxy S already gotten lucky, it will be the South Koreans who are expected to enjoy the Froyo treat next week.

Also, there is no reason why the Europeans will be held back next week, so that leaves only the North Americans in a circumspect stance, where the Froyo release is yet to be officially announced.
