Archos 43 Android tablet now shipping for $249.99

Archos has started shipping their 4.3 inch tablet/PMP, the Archos 43. It has been showing as available for pre-order on Amazon for the past two weeks. Now, the Android 2.2 tablet has started shipping.

The 4.3 inch tablet device has a 854×480 pixel capacitive touchscreen and packs a lot of features under the hood. It is powered by an ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor with DSP and graphics support for OpenGL 3D ES 2.0. It is capable of outputting video at 720p through its onboard HDMI port which can be connected to an HDTV. Its 2MP rear-facing camera can also record HD video at 720 resolution.

In case of media playback, the Archos 43 comes with support for a huge number of audio and video formats including MP3, MP4, WMV, MPG and even the lossless FLAC format. This is one of the things that put it over the iPod Touch. On the connectivity front, you get WiFI 802.11 b/g/n as well as Bluetooth connectivity.

The 8GB16GB Archos43 tablet/PMP is now available from Archos’ online store for $249.99.
