Acer’s Liquid Metal handset had given us a sneak peek of itself, but features were not forthcoming as yet. It seems like Acer isn’t prepared to give away more by way of leaks and the company has made the device official in the UK.

Belonging to the league of the latest Acer smartphones, the device sports a 3.6-inch display and runs Android 2.2 Froyo.  Under the hood is a 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 processor, and the phone will support 802.11n WiFi, 14.4Mbps HSDPA and DLNA/UPnP streaming support. Acer has made it clear that the latest device from its stables is aimed at the user who leads a modern, dynamic, and fully integrated lifestyle.

For the up market professional always on the move, this would come across as a perfect status proclaiming handset. To add to the lure of the high-flyers, Acer has thrown in capabilities such as extremely fast web surfing and a host of multimedia contents options.

The device comes with a new browser that enables you to open web pages faster by putting into use Flash support and JavaScript engine optimization.  Other features include multitouch function, support for resizing web pages, photos and maps ,  and capabilities that would help  record video in HD at 720p (30fps) and allow more high-resolution videos in Xvid format. You will also be able to snap up photos with the 5MP A/F camera enhanced with LED flash, image stabilizer and facial and smile recognition

Significant is the presence of a new UI christened Breeze that would help manage applications in an easier way. On the social networking front is the Acer SocialJogger Application that aggregates Facebook and Twitter feeds and lets you surf through the updates with the trackwheel.

UK customers can pick the device by the mid of November for £299. We also hear that a silver variant of the Liquid metal would be rolled out by early December. Which one are you opting for?
