Motorola Droid 2 owners must be aware of a new OTA update being rendered on to their smartphones as the update has already made it to a number of Droid 2 handsets this far. The update version is 2.3.20 and one of the main attractions that the update brings in is an improved battery life and performance.

Other noticeable attractions which this particular update brings in is a speedier GPS location tracking ability and an increased changeover from Wi-Fi to GPS. These are the attractions but these are not the only changes which the OTA renders.

Droid 2 is plagued with proximity sensor issues and the accuracy has now been improved for a faster response time on the screen. Another improvement is the visual voice-mail as the usage has been made much more simpler now. Another simplification is the addition of video files to text messages.

What is more is that your contacts can now be transported to the SD card while a user can also add images to contacts, courtesy of this firmware upgrade.
