iPad available starting today in both Verizon (WiFi + MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot) & AT&T (WiFi + 3G) Stores: Which one will you pick up?

Today is the day that many have been waiting for. The iPad from Apple finally goes on sale and you can pick one up from either the Verizon store or the AT&T store. The models are obviously different and it will all depend on how much customers prefer Verizon over AT&T if those ‘only WiFi models’ with MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot are to be sold. For those who prefer WiFi+3G on their iPad, the obvious choice is AT&T. But there is also a matter of picking a data plan that suits you best.

Verizon’s offer gives you a MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot with your choice of 16GB ($629), 32GB ($729), or 64GB ($820) iPads. Same price for the similar iPads in AT&T as well, with the difference being that instead of the MiFi 2200 mobile hotspot, you directly get a WiFi+3G iPad.

As far as the data plans go, Verizon is currently offering 1GB/month for $20, 3GB for $35 and 5GB for $50. There is of course no contractual obligation attached and hence you are free to change anytime you want. AT&T is offering 250MB of data for $14.99 a month and 2GB of data for $25 per month along with a free access to its 23,000+ hotspots across US. Again, all this is contract-free.

So picking up a iPad this holiday season? Will it be Verizon or AT&T? Or maybe you still think that Samsung Galaxy Tab is better?
