Call of Duty: Black Ops available for pre-order from Tesco at £39.90: The battle for Black Ops in retail begins even as it sets pre-order record at Amazon!

Call of Duty: Black Ops is very quickly becoming the most sought after gift in this holiday season. The latest installment of Call of Duty that follows the best seller, Modern Warfare 2, comes with huge expectations attached. So far those expectations have translated into pre-order numbers that have already wiped out most records even on Amazon. And we are not just talking gaming here. This includes stuff like pre-order record for Michael Jackson DVDs!

Now Tesco in UK has put up these huge ads across all major English newspapers stating that they are giving away Call of duty: Black Ops for £39.90. So, the battle in the retail market for pre-order sales begins. The actual price that Activision announced for the Black Ops was £55. Of course, we always knew that we were not going to pay that much anyway.

Many still seem unhappy at the £40 price tag. Yes, they want it to come down further and as we approach the big release date of November 9, it might indeed get closer to the £30 mark. So, did you pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops? Like the Tesco deal? Do stay on the lookout for better deals though and be sure to pre-order the awesome Black Ops…
