Halo Reach and New Super Mario Top the 2010 Sales List in USA: Could be only till Call of Duty: Black Ops is out!

October 25, 2010, By Shawn Wagnon

The NPD group has given out the list for the top selling games in the US for the year 2010 so far (Sales from January to September included) and the list sees Halo: Reach right on the top. While that should not and did not surprise anyone, it is the fact that five of the Wii titles made it to the top 10 that seemed to have startled all. Of course, with Mario Bros in at 2 and at 6 in its various versions, one continues to see the long and undiminished love for the guy that has taken Wii to the world!

While New Mario Super Bros. came in at 2, it was Super Mario Galaxy 2 that came in the sixth spot. Call of Duty: Modern warfare 2 continued its stay in the top 10 despite all that went around it as it came in at the eight spot. With Call of Duty: Black Ops now not too far away, one is sure to see a new leader come year end on top of the charts.

Also set for release is World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and that could make its way to the top three in the chart as well. So with the holiday season just around the corner, expect some big moves and drops. Here is the complete top 10 chart:
