B&N Nook Color Tablet Spotted in the Wild Prior to Launch

October 25, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Just before a day of launch, Barnes and Noble’s upcoming Nook Color e-reader has found its leaked images spreading in the web. The device which is reported to be based on Android platform, gave a glimpse in the website of Barnes and Noble while demonstrating an accessory. But the company pulled the page back as soon as they smelt the leak.

The image that showed up in the website hints the new device has touchscreen facility, with color display.  Its current models has only a monochrome E link display , coupled with a smaller, color LCD touchscreen with navigation and control keys.  However, nothing is known about the screen technology used in the new device. Tipped information puts the price of the device around $249.

The leak, however gives little information regarding the new device. The device appeared on a product page for the Nook Color Screen Film Kit, from B&N, was illustrating the screen protector accessory.

We are expecting more accurate details regarding this color e-reader, as B&N has scheduled the Nook event for Tuesday afternoon.
