The Motorola DEFY smartphone is set to be released early next month and it will be brought into the market by T-Mobile. The carrier has made it clear that the device will be marketed from the 3rd of this November and they have already listed the device in their official website.

The makers have crafted the phone with a scratch resistant 3.7-inch touchscreen and claim that the device is dust-proof and water resistant. They claim that it can withstand being placed into 1m of water.

The device also comes equipped with a 5MP camera with an LED flash. The connectivity specifications of this multimedia device include WiFi and Bluetooth, along with the 3G capabilities.

There is also a 3.5mm audio jack and a built-in GPS receiver. It can support various audio and video formats, and the 1540 mAh Li-ion battery is said to provide a good backup for the usage.

The phone is based on the Android 2.1 operating system and the customers are already anxious to know whether it will be updated to the Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The device will be offered to the users at $99 on a two-year contract with T-Mobile.
