Apple MacBook Pros Get 2.8GHz Core i7 Option

You might know that Apple had updated the MacBook Air at its “Back to the Mac” event. But the company also used the event to introduce a new CPU option for its 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro laptops, a 2.8GHz Core i7 processor.

Customers who are looking for the 15-inch notebook can jump from the 2.66GHz CPU to the 2.8GHz option for $200. The 2.66GHz upgrade is also still available.

Upgrading the 17-inch MacBook Pro to the 2.8GHz chip will bring the price up by $400 from the basic price with a 2.53GHz Core i7 component.

The upgrade to the 2.8GHz Core i7 processor is available now for both the laptops.

It appears that Apple’s 2010 notebook line, and Mac product family as a whole, is now set in stone for the holiday shopping season, meaning no further hardware updates are likely until next year.

You can get more info about the revved up MacBook Pro at the Apple website. Check it out here.
