RIM BlackBerry PlayBook is a reality is no secret and most of the mysteries regarding the PlayBook have already been decoded, but there were still a few that kept the fanatics interested until date. RIM has gone ahead an detailed the tablet at the ongoing Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) this week. As per the info rendered by RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie, the PlayBook will be available in a 64GB version other than the already confirmed 16GB and 32GB variants.
This implies that the RIM PlayBook will directly compete with the Apple iPad as far as the tablet sizes are concerned, as the Apple iPad too is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants. Other than the tablet sizes, the co-CEO also talked about the PlayBook sporting a 5,300mAH battery.
The tablet sizes confirmed by RIM do hint at competitiveness, but let us not forget that the PlayBook is not arriving until 2011, and by that time we might be talking about the Apple iPad 2.0. RIM is seeking a revival of sorts with its PlayBook while its entry into the tablet market will only intensify the competition.
