NEC MultiSync EX231W LCD Monitor Unveiled; Ships Next Month for $339

NEC has unveiled their new LCD monitor, the MultiSync EX231W that measures 23-inch and weighs just 9.3 pounds. It is brought out by the makers with an ECO-mode that helps in reducing the energy consumption.

In the ECO-mode, the company claims that the energy consumption by the device will be lowered to 16 watts. The gadget has an ultraslim bezel (14.6mm) and a native 1920 x 1080 screen resolution that offers a brightness of 250nits. With the dynamic contrast ratio of 25,000:1, it will be offering a good display output.

The device is actually an LED-backlit LCD monitor that comes with a 4-way quick release stand with 110mm height adjust, pivot, swivel and tilt. It is also equipped with DVI and DisplayPort options which help the monitor to deliver a full high-definition resolution.

For the flash-drive access and webcam connectivity there is a USB port on the top of the monitor. The ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen brightness according to the surroundings and the Intelligent Power Management (IPM) system helps in lowering the power consumption.

The makers have also integrated a Touch-sensitive On Screen Display (OSD) controls and a human sensor which can simplify the operations performed. External power supply can be provided through a mini AC adaptor.

The device will be marketed by the company at a price tag of $339 and it will ship next month. NEC MultiSync EX231W, which will be compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Vista, offers a three year limited warranty for its customers.
