Toshiba has introduced its latest smartphone, the Toshiba REGZA IS04, and it is the second KDDI Android smartphone for the Japanese market. The smartphone will be released in Japan in January 2011.
The Toshiba REGZA IS04 comes equipped with a 12.19 megapixel camera with auto-focus feature which enables the reader to get better clicks, and the CMOS censor promises optimum quality pictures. To avert damage from water and other fluids, REGZA IS04 is designed water proof by Toshiba.
To run the show, Toshiba has packed a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, but the operating system is still Android 2.1. The device also has a 4-inch 854×480 touchscreen with FWVGA LCD panel that enables smooth viewing and navigation.
REGZA IS04 also offers WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1. It enables high speed 3G data transfer and its new EVDO system guarantees up to 9.2 Mbps downlinks and 5.5 Mbps uplinks. It is also equipped with a microSDHC card slot to hold all those massive images. A flash-light and multi touch feature adds to the show.
There is no word on the North American or European release dates. But, it is expected to get a Froyo update by March.
