Verizon iPad to be released on October 20 with newer and cheaper Data Plans: AT&T vs Verizon battle begins!

This is what all Apple fans have been waiting for. We pay so much for the ‘cool factor’ that Apple offers that it would be real nice if someone gave us a bit of a bargain. With the iPad coming out on both AT&T and Verizon for the very first time, the time might have come when we can look forward to ‘Apple deals’. It might not be much initially but competition among top brands can just never be bad for the paying consumer- that is what the new Verizon plans for iPad show.

While AT&T’s current iPad plans, 250MB for $14.99 per month or 2GB for $2 are known, Verizon is stepping it up by giving 3GB plan for $35 per month and a 5GB plan for $50 per month. No, do not jump up with joy just yet. Like always, there is a catch involved. In case of Verizon you will have to buy both a Wi-Fi iPad and a Verizon MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot to get the discount.

And for the smart ones out there, NO, you cannot buy the iPad outside and then jump onto the plans. You will have to pay for both the Wi-Fi Verizon iPad and MiFi 2200 Hotspot at the same time to get the offers. So, Verizon is offering its customers a bit of a discount for the intial high price they pay.

Considering this to be a monthly thing, the future could be real interesting in the land of iPad wars. Which carrier will you chose? Will it be AT&T or Verizon?
