T-Mobile Motorola Cliq to get Updated to Android 2.1 (Eclair) Soon, Rumors Predict Mid November

October 15, 2010, By Atul Roach

I get very annoyed each time I go ahead and talk about an Android OS powered device getting updated to the higher version. The frustrating factor is non-unanimity of these updates for devices of a similar generation. Think from a users perspective! We first began talking about the Motorola Cliq getting updated to Android 2.1 in March this year and this is officially materializing (or still in the offing) by November.

As much as I pity the T-Mobile (US) locked Motorola Cliq owners waiting for the Android 2.1 update for eternity, I feel pleased to realize that the update has been officially confirmed. The irony though is that, T-Mobile is talking about this update, but even now a definite date hasn’t been outed.

However, the source to have broken this info is sure that the update will arrive sometime in the middle of November as the T-Mobile employees have been summoned for a training on November 7, 2010. As a tradition, the carrier employees get trained a week before the official arrival of an update and hence mid-November is the ‘ideal’ guess.

T-Mobile Motorola Cliq owners can still rejoice for the fact that they have an official confirmation which at least gives them some time frame to concentrate on, unlike, the past 6 months, where they have been made to live in the oblivion.
