Canadians with a Rogers contract and some affinity for Samsung’s new Galaxy S smartphone, would be happy to know that the carrier has confirmed that Samsung Captivate will be launching for their clients sometime next week.

Rogers made the official announcement on the company’s blog (source link at the bottom). From what we know, the Captivate has been delayed a few times due to manufacturing issues, and no one knew how long it would take for it to be released — but thankfully, they did a good job in coming up with a fix and a release date is now due for next week.

Regarding pricing, we’re hearing that Rogers will charge you $149.99 for the Samsung Captivate if you get your name on a three-year contract. In case you want just the phone, that will cost you $549.99.

If you can’t remember it, Samsung Captivate is a Galaxy S with Android 2.1 on board. Amongst the most interesting features there’s a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display, a powerful 1GHz Hummingbird processor, a 5.0 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth connectivity and 16GB of built-in storage space (up to 32GB).

Will you get yours?
