“Bringing the social elements of Facebook together with the deeper communication aspects of Skype” will be the key functionality of the new Skype 5.0 for Windows. Released today and out now for use, integrating your favourite social networking site along with one of the most popular and well-known VoIP service around, the aim of the new Skype 5.0 is to bring everything together at one place and do so with simplicity.

Apart from the obviously-popular features like video conferencing for 10 users at a single time and the Facebook-syncing that well surely get plenty of publicity, the new Skype 5.0 promotes seriously some of its lesser-known features such as file-sharing, screen-sharing and SMS, which are now linked to on a new’ Skype Home’ tab.

The Facebook support from Skype side is growing in leaps and bounds with the usual ‘Mood Messages’ still around, a better ability to connect and call Facebook buddies and features that will elevate friends of your friends automatically on Skype calling list. Basically the latest instalment is all about bringing those who feel at home on social networking domain (Read as ‘Facebook’) onto Skype and encouraging them to use it more.

While the Windows version is just out, the Mac version is expected in a couple of months as well. If you are already using Skype, you should try out its newly released Skype 5.0. Even for business and official purposes it serves great as you can control Facebook privacy options in the business version. Did you try it yet? Like the new integration? Shout out and help your fellow ‘Netizens’ make a beter choice…
