HP Photosmart eStation C510 Printer with Android Tablet Now Available

The HP Photosmart eStation C510, the combination of an Android tablet and an internet-connected printer, is now on sale. The tablet and printer combo, which was formerly known as HP Zeen, is priced at $399 direct from HP and there is no service contract required.

The HP Photosmart eStation C510 includes a color photo printer that is equipped with WiFi and an SD card reader, and something that HP calls a “detachable color touchscreen”.

The color touchscreen is actually a 7-inch Android-based tablet. The tablet runs Google’s Android 2.1, but it does not come with all the awesome features that are seen on the tablets that are the favorites these days.

The tablet, which is designed to act as a wireless digital companion and control panel for remote printing, does not provide support for the Android market and the default search engine is Yahoo, not Google. The tablet does include a web browser, and a series of apps and widgets designed to work with the printer. There is also an eBook reader that will allow you to read books or print them.

The eStation C510 seems to be a good choice if you are just looking for a tablet for web browsing and you also have the need for a new printer. But if your need is for a full featured Android tablet, you better look for something else.
