We haven’t done any talking whatsoever regarding the Yahoo Messenger for a long-long time, but it now appears that Yahoo is finally giving us a major reason to revert this trend on Dmag. Yahoo is preparing a mobile application for various platforms and it plans to incorporate video chat in the mix.

It is strange that video chatting despite existing for a very long time was ignored by all major names which could have contributed to its development. Only after Apple gave FaceTime its due share of respect that other firms have stared thinking more seriously about video chats.

Yahoo also falls into this category of Apple influenced outfits. Nonetheless, the good thing is that Yahoo Messenger mobile app is going to feature video chat and Yahoo’s version will even outscore FaceTime- as it will include the ability to place video calls over both WiFi and 3G.

What is more is that users could also use the application to call cross-platform. A PC could video call an Android handset, while an Android user could video chat with an iPhone user, or any arrangement of devices. All we now aspire to know is the release date of the Yahoo Messenger mobile application.
