Canon PowerShot SX30 IS Hands-on Review; Great for Holiday Snappers

October 8, 2010, By Atul Roach

The holiday season is approaching and that calls for a great camera purchase to make the breaks even more special, and more importantly ‘memorable’. If you are in the mood to spend a decent amount of money to buy a great holiday camera, you might want to consider the sensational Canon PowerShot SX30 IS which has just made it to the UK markets.

For us, it became an instant favorite after reading a hands-on review from the guys over electricpig who took the beauty around London for an avid shooting session. As per the review, the first thing that takes you by surprise is it’s surreal 35x telescopic optical zoom which is very well implemented.

Another captivating quality is the stabilization on super zoom shots even if your hands are quaky. You can zoom out and zoom-in in a jiffy, which is again very impressive as the task can get cumbersome at times with certain other camera options.

Canon PowerShot SX30 IS is sturdily built and it comes with a 2.7-inch LCD display which doesn’t change it’s behavior much even in bright daylight. All in all it is a great holiday camera for people who will never dare to step into the DSLR category.
