Samsung has officially announced that the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Tab, which will be available to you soon, will have the Gorilla Glass feature. So the Android-packing device will be coming with a screen that will be resistant to scratches and hits.

The device will be using the same kind of Gorilla glass display (from Corning) that is used on the Samsung Galaxy S. Gorilla glass is a thin piece of glass that boasts excellent scratch resistance and enhanced durability when compared to a normal cover glass.

The durable, thin display and sleek design of the Galaxy Tab is enabled in part by using the Corning Gorilla glass as a cover glass.

Just to refresh your memory, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is powered by Android 2.2 and features a 7-inch LCD display. It comes with a 1GHz processor and is equipped with a 3 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel one on the front for video calling.

The Galaxy Tab will be maximizing the joy of e-reading, web browsing, watching videos and movies, and listening to music while on the move. Corning’s Gorilla glass has enabled the device to combine best-in-class technologies in mobility and toughness.
