Samsung Galaxy Tab UK Release Date Confirmed for November 1st

The wait for an alternative in the ‘tablet market’ is finally set to need, at least in UK as the official release date for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab is out.

All set to challenge the current dominance of Apple in this particular category, the Galaxy is going to be out in UK on the 1st of November and will be available across board from a wide variety of carriers such as Carphone Warehouse, Dixons, T-Mobile and many more. The much awaited Galaxy Tab will sport a 7-inch TFT-LCD display and runs on Android 2.2 operating system.

Just going by the specs that are available so far there is absolutely no doubt that Samsung Galaxy Tab is indeed the first real contender that iPad will have to square up against. While Galaxy Tab’s screen might be a tad bit smaller than the 9.7-inch LEd iPad screen, the former holds the edge by being lighter and more compact.

Add to that the advantage of running on Android 2.2, a larger RAM and a rear-facing 3.2-megapixel camera and a front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera for video chatting and galaxy Tab seems to hold quite a few aces up its sleeve.

While the price tag that it will come attached with is still clear, Samsung’s uber-cool Tab is currently listed at £599.99 on Amazon. But of course, subsidized deals should make it a lot sweeter to bring home.

Now all there is left is to see if Samsung can match, if not displace Apple, from its high pedestal…
