Reports are suggesting that Logitech has begun shipping its Revue set-top-boxes to retailers such as BestBuy. The company is expected to ship more than 500,000 units of the device by the end of 2010.

Logitech Revue is a companion box and controller that brings the experience of Google TV to your TV screen. The device will be combining everything on the Web, cable or satellite content, apps, video calling and more.

Sources have revealed to DigiTimes that the shipment of the device to the North American market has already begun. Taking Sony’s televisions into consideration, Google TV is expected to reach more than 1 million households by the end of the year.

We will be able to see a lot more competition in the market for set-top-boxes in the coming days, since a variety of competing devices are scheduled to arrive before the Christmas shopping season. Apple has already begun shipping its latest Apple TV offering, while Boxee is preparing to launch an Atom-based Boxee Box. Acer and Asustek will also be coming forward with similar offerings.

The Revue Google TV set-top-box will be having a price tag of $299. If you are planning to get the Revue, you will be able to play with it in the very near future.
