GE has unveiled the DV1 mini HD camcorder. The device, which is yet another player in the ever expanding mini camcorder market, comes with a lot of features including protection from water and dust.

The GE DV1 Mini HD camcorder, which is capable of capturing Full HD 1080p video, will be coming equipped with a 5 megapixel CMOS sensor for taking still photos. It will also come with a 2.5-inch LCD screen for viewing what you have just recorded. The camcorder will also have an SD/SDHC memory card slot which supports up to 32GB and a 5.5mm fixed focal length lens (33mm-35mm film equivalent).

The DV1 has a flip-out USB arm for fast and easy file transfer along with an HDMI for connection to a HDTV. The camcorder will be tougher than your average mini HD camcorder because it is waterproof up to 5m, shockproof up to 1.5m and also offers resistance to dust.

There was no available information on the price of the camcorder, but it will be available sometime in October. There will be three colors to choose from – green, orange and grey.
