BlackBerry Style 9670 in Sprint’s Database; First Video Out

September 29, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The Blackberry Style 9670 has been listed in the Sprint database. The still unannounced smartphone has shown up in what appears to be a Sprint database leak.

We had first caught a glimpse of the Blackberry 9670 back in April. Now the device has popped up within Sprint’s internal system and it suggests that the phone might be announced sometime in the near future (since database leaks usually happens just weeks before the official release of a phone). You might also know that the phone did pass FCC certification very recently.

When it arrives, it will sport a flip form factor, complemented by a full-QWERTY keyboard, and the newly unveiled Blackberry 6 OS on board.

Meanwhile, a video showing the device up-close for the very first time has also surfaced. The video, which comes to us courtesy of PoderPda, gives a nice hardware comparison with many other Blackberry phones, including the Pearl, Storm 2, the Curve 8520 and its sole clamshell sibling, the Pearl Flip.

You can expect an official announcement from RIM sometime soon and there is a possibility that the device might arrive before the holiday season.

Check out the video before it is pulled from YouTube.
