Sprint HTC Hero gets Update; Dialer and GPS Issues Fixed

September 27, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Sprint has started rolling out maintenance update for the HTC Hero. Unfortunately, the update is not Android 2.2 “Froyo”.

Earlier, Sprint had indicated via a tweet that the HTC Hero will not be upgraded to Froyo. Now, the phone has been updated to software version 2.31.651.7, which is said to fix a couple of known issues affecting the internal GPS and dialer. The update will be fixing the dialer sluggish issue and the GPS reboot issue.

Those who received the update are already seeing a difference after updating the software. Users have reported that the dialer now comes up in mere seconds rather than minutes, as it used to.

But it is believed that this might be the last update that the phone will be receiving. At least a few of your problems are being solved.
