Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android 2.1 Upgrade Delayed; Xperia X10 Getting Eclair in October, Froyo Never?

September 23, 2010, By Alex Ion

Sony Ericsson is bringing more and more bad news to their customers. Although they previously promised Xperia X10 owners (X10, X10 Mini & X10 Mini Pro) to get Android 2.1 on their handsets before the end of September, we’re now hearing that it won’t happen — so better stop dreaming, you’re NOT getting Eclair on your X10 this month, but next month, in October.

Android 2.1 Upgrade Delayed Again for Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 handsets

According to an “update on updates” on one of their official blogs, Sony Ericsson officially announced all Xperia X10 owners that the Android 2.1 upgrade will be rolled out by the end of October. That’s because “we have had to spend some additional time on the software to really makes sure we roll-out with the right quality and user experience”.

Does anyone know what’s happening in those Sony Ericsson cubicles and how can this happen in the real world when you’re a big company that wants to rank among the first in the mobile business? Sony Ericssson, this is Android 2.1 we’re talking about, NOT Andriod 2.2?

Are you guys serious?

(disclaimer: Sorry for being pissed, but this is unacceptable … I just can’t believe that X10 owners get stuck on Android 1.6 for so long. Certainly feels like they’ll never get Android 2.2 … )
