Apple TV to Start Shipping Soon

September 23, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Apple might begin shipping their new Apple TV units soon. The information has come as a result of reports from customers that their credit cards are being debited for $99 by the Apple store.

It was reported by customers that their cards have just been charged for their September 1st pre-order. Apple only does this about 2 to 3 days before they start shipping the orders.

When the Apple TV was revealed on September 1st, Apple had hinted that the device would be made available in roughly four weeks. So the new information might be correct and it might be coming soon.

The new Apple TV, which is small enough to fit right into the palm of your hand, is just a quarter of a size of its predecessor. Using Apple’s new AirPlay feature, the device emphasizes media streaming from user’s computers, the cloud, or from iPads and iPhones. There are also third-party vendors, such as Denon, iHome, Marantz, JBL, and Bowers & Wilkens, for providing support for the AirPlay feature.

The device, which is expected to have great sales with the reasonable price tag, also comes with HDMI, optical digital audio and Ethernet ports.

We can hope that Apple starts shipping those first units soon. But by the looks of things there is a greater possibility that you might play with the device as soon as the end of this month.
