Nokia N8 Delayed Yet Again; Final Amends Now On

September 20, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Nokia has announced that the much anticipated Nokia N8 shipments will be held for a few weeks, for the company to do some final amends. Rumors about the delay have been circulating around for the past couple of days and now the smartphone won’t be available until October. The phone was earlier expected to be available in September.

In a news release Nokia had said that the pre-orders of the phone had exceeded their expectations. The company said that the phone is seeing strong pre-order demand, more than any other Nokia handset.

Some rumors had suggested that the phone will ship in sometime in November. So the current announcement is not that bad. But we will have to wait till October to know whether the company is being honest about the claims about the N8’s strong pre-sales numbers.

You already know a lot about the device. Just to refresh your memory, the Symbian^3 OS N8 will be coming with a 3.5 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 360 x 640. It will feature ARM 11 680 MHz processor and a 12 megapixel camera with autofocus and Xenon flash. It will also have 16 GB of storage, 256MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM.
