Amazon UK to Sell HTC Desire Z for £429.99; to Start Shipping on Oct 11

Amazon UK has announced the pricing and release date of the HTC Desire Z. The Android 2.2 “Froyo” handset was unveiled alongside HTC Desire HD, a few days ago, by HTC.

Amazon UK announced that the Desire Z, the world version of T-Mobile G2, is having a price tag of £429.99 (off contract price) and that the handset will ship in October 11. The device can now be pre-ordered from Amazon and you will be able to play with it in three weeks time.

But the same device is coming with a price tag of $199.99 on a new 2-year contract at T-Mobile and the customers will get the phone a little early on October 6. You might already know that Radio Shack and Costco are selling it for $149.99.

The phone will be coming with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display with multitouch and WVGA (480 x 800) resolution. It will also feature an 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, 1.5GB of internal memory and a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and flash. It will provide HD video recording and microSD support for up to 32GB. WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS is also included along with the HTC Sense UI.
