Tesco Catalogue Leaks Nokia N8 Price, Costs only £300

September 10, 2010, By Alex Ion

Those of you looking for a Nokia branded smartphone must be eagerly waiting for the Nokia N8 to hit the stores on October 1st. The Symbian^3 device is expected to debut in the United Kingdom for a staggering £429 (£499 buys you an unlocked iPhone 4G on Regent Street) but we’re hearing that Tesco will put it up for sale to its customers for a cheaper £299.97.

Tesco Nokia N8

Tesco Mobile catalogue to offer Nokia N8 for £299

According to the Tesco catalogue where the leaked price appeared on, there’s no stock for the Nokia N8 right now, so be prepared to buy it after the official release date — maybe mid-October if you want to save some of your hard earned cash. That of course, if Tesco hasn’t made a printing error …

Just a quick specs reminder, Nokia N8 is a Symbian^3 smartphone from the Nokia Nseries, the first camera phone to feature a 12 megapixel sensor. Speaking of the camera, it comes with Carl Zeiss optics and features a Xenon flash and 16:9 720p HD video recording (@ 25 FPS).

There’s a 3.5-inch capacitive, multi-touch AMOLED display (640 x 360px resolution), runs on a 680 MHz ARM11 processor (yuck!), has 256MB SDRAM, 16GB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot (up to 32BG). On top of that there’s HDMI out, Dolby Digital Plus sound, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support; the N8 is also the first device to feature a Pentaband 3.5G radio.

All these powered by a 1,200mAh battery.

Is the Nokia N8 worth £300 with Tesco or will you buy it ahead from the Nokia Store for £429?

Do I hear you saying Milestone 2, Desire HD or iPhone 4? Anyone?
