T-Mobile G2 Launch on Oct 6th; Pre-Orders Begin Today at Best Buy

T-Mobile G2, the successor to the T-Mobile G1, will be available on Best Buy Mobile for pre-order starting today (Sep 10th). The smartphone will be launched in stores on October 6th and will retail for $199.99 with a two-year contract. Pre-orders can be made at any local Best Buy or Best Buy mobile standalone store.

Yesterday, T-Mobile had officially announced the G2, but there was no confirmation on the pre-order or the launch date. It was just announced that the pre-order will start later this month.

Best Buy has, in fact, beaten T-Mobile by confirming the pre-order date as well as the release date. But we can wait and see whether T-Mobile strikes back by releasing the G2 before October 6th.

The Android 2.2 G2, which is T-Mobile’s first phone on its HSPA+ network, will let consumers connect at 4G speeds. It comes with an exclusive hinge design that opens up to a QWERTY keyboard and a 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen.

The phone also features a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, and comes with 4GB of internal memory and a pre-installed 8GB microSD card with support for up to 32GB.
