Acer Liquid Metal: New Android 2.2 Smartphone from Acer (Specs)

A new Acer-branded Android 2.2 smartphone, the Acer Liquid Metal, may be in the works to take the empty spot between the Liquid E and the Stream in the Acer lineup of Android smartphones.

While all we have is a wave of rumors spreading from Russia, if the Acer Liquid Metal is actually under hammer we’re looking at a device that packs a 3.6-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with WVGA resolution (800 x 480) , features a 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230-1 processor, 512MB of RAM and 512MB or ROM memory, Bluetooth 3.0, and a camera (no word on what sensor it uses) with flash.

That’s beside the sleek aluminum casing that you can see in the above picture (the front seems to be made of plastic).

Oh, and correct me if I’m wrong, doesn’t it look a bit too much like the back of the Nokia N70 (including the bulky form factor)?

At this moment we have nothing regarding price or availability,or anything official from Acer about a mobile phone dubbed Liquid Metal
