Verizon have officially announced that Samsung Fascinate (an iteration of the Samsung Galaxy S) will be available for their customers starting September 9 — it was about time as they’re the last of the four big carriers to have it.

No more leaked documents, no more rumors, this comes straight from Big Red themselves, who showed their Galaxy S commercial that gave us some hints for an official release date. According to the TV ad the Verizon Samsung Fascinate indicates that the phone will be in stores within a couple of days.

If you don’t know what the Verizon Fascinate is all about, here’s a refresher. The smartphone features a 4-inch Super AMOLED display that Samsung claims is the most battery saving display with the best visibility, is powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor (specially designed by Samsung), has 512MB of RAM and a 5 megapixel camera that allows you to record 720p HD video.

On top of that the Galaxy S comes with a six-axis sensor that works with the accelerometer for fluid gaming control and has 2GB of built-in storage (expandable with another 16GB microSD card). It’s also capable to act as a 3G Mobile Hotspot to share your 3G Mobile broadband connection with up to five compatible devices over WiFi.

When launched in a couple of days, Verizon’s Samsung Fascinate will run Android 2.1.
