LG Optimus Range to Feature Nvidia Tegra 2 Chip for Forthcoming Devices

September 7, 2010, By Atul Roach

In the past, the LG Optimus range hasn’t been of much interest to us and the only time we heard about it, was when an Optimus Range tablet was being readied and a few Optimus Android and Optimus WP7 ready devices were to break cover in the future. It seems that this time, we have a bigger and a ‘definitely’ better reason to talk about the Optimus Range as the forthcoming devices belonging to this race are to feature the Nvidia Tegra 2 Chip.

This is no rumor but a confirmation which comes from LG’s vice president of market strategy, Chang Ma. As per Ma, this step will be an important contribution to the effort of making the Optimus lineage devices a standard in speed and graphics performance.

The selection of Nvidia was therefore an obvious choice as it is the visual computing leader and it has a history of creating astoundingly amazing consumer experiences. Talking about this same gang looking to power the mobile devices of the future and LG surely has a chance to make it big in a segment where it has faltered in the past.
