Nokia N8 Release Date Moved to September 30, UK Buyers to Get it First

Just a few days ago, we saw a Google Adwords ad saying that the Nokia N8 release date in the UK is September 23 — “one week before anyone else”. At the time it didn’t ring any bells that the much hyped Symbian^3-powered N8 could make its debut in the UK, on the 23rd with the other markets following suit one week after. It now does!

Nokia N8

According to Tapani Kaskinen, company’s Senior Communications Manager, Nokia N8 will be available to buyers (our guess is, that’s international buyers) starting September 30. While Kaskinen hasn’t released any details regarding pricing, we managed to find out that independent sites like Play.com have the device listed for around £420 – £480 as an unlocked device.

Nokia N8 is another attempt for Nokia to get back in the smartphone game. Features for the device includes a 3.5-inch, 640 x 360, capacitive touchscreen, 16GB on board storage which can be expanded using a microSD 3G capability, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. There’s also a stunning 12MP camera with auto-focus and Xenon flash that allows to record 25fps 720p HD video (H.264).

Would you give Nokia another shot? Would you try the N8?
