Halo Movie Not Completely Dead

September 6, 2010, By Christian Davis

A Halo based film seems to be a perfect fit. Talks of  a movie based on the blockbuster title appeared to be the first really good videogame based movie to be released. Peter Jackson and Neil Bloomkamp were tied to it and that was more then enough for people to get excited. In 2009, the film was put “on hold” and Microsoft wanted to wait for the time to be right.

“We’re still interested in making an excellent ‘Halo’ movie,” Frank O’Connor from Micrsoft’s Halo branch, 343 Industries, told Variety in a recent interview. “We’ve created an awful lot of documentation and materials to support a feature film. We have a good idea of what kind of story we want to tell, but won’t move on it until there’s a great reason to do it. We’re in no particular hurry.”

That’s unfortunate to hear for us who are eagerly awaiting to see a movie about the franchise. With all the live action trailers that have been released for the Halo series, it’s still very surprising that this movie is still taking so long.
