Sharp Concept Phone With 3D Camera and Displays Shown

September 3, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Sharp has demonstrated its new phone with 3D camera and glass free display. The device, in concept form, would be on show at the IFA 2010 in Berlin.
The company will also introduce two prototype screens, one of which will be 3.8 inches in size and the other will be 10.1 inches.

The concept phone will come with a design similar to the iPhone 4 or the Samsung Galaxy S, and will feature two cameras on the rear.

This feature would let you shoot 3D footage similar to the Fujifilm Real 3D W3 camera announced sometime ago. Just like the Nintendo 3DS, the screen will be using a lenticular lens which will help in producing a 3D effect without the need of 3D glasses.

The two prototype screens also won’t need the use of any glasses. But there is no news on what devices these screens will be attached to.

The company had confirmed that it plans to launch the phone sometime before the end of the year. But there was no confirmation whether it will be released in the UK or the US, or only in Japan.

There is no news as to when we will be able to see the devices in true form.
