Samsung has announced the PN50C490 3D Plasma TV, the cheapest 3D HDTV in the market, along with two other 3D Plasmas which comes with a higher price tag. The company also showed off the first portable 3D Blu-ray Player and the largest 3D LED-backlit HDTV.

The 50-inch PN50C490, which costs $1,099.99 (list price), has a 720p resolution and 2,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It also comes equipped with a USB socket, three HDMI inputs, and a pair of component jacks, and of course support for 3D.

However, there is no internet connectivity available. It also comes with 600Hz subfield motion. There was no news on whether the TV will be coming with a pair of 3D glasses included in the package.

It will be available later this month along with the other two 3D plasmas which comes with 1080p resolution, the 50-inch PN50C680 and the 58-inch PN58C680. The smaller version costs $1,599.99, while the other one comes with a price tag of $2,299.99.

The PN50C490 is already available for pre-ordering from Amazon and will cost you $989. But you might as well think twice before you make a move. Even though it’s a 50 incher, the image quality of the 720p plasma will be quite different when compared to the 1080p TV.
