Duke Nukem Forever Lives (for the n-th time), Coming Out 2011 by Gearbox

Yes, we know – it’s worse than a soap opera at this point after all these deaths and revivals, but please don’t shoot the messenger. According to the latest news surrounding the #1 vaporware title of all time, Gearbox Software have teamed up with 2K Games to complete the game which probably noone believes would be completed at this point. And best of all, it’s supposed to come out next year!

Thankfully this isn’t even a rumor, as it was announced officially at PAX today in the course of a livestream presentation at the booth of 2K Games. The title was announced for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS, with a release date some time in 2011.

Interestingly, this has been going on for about a year now, after Gearbox apparently acquired the rights to the title in 2009 and started… well, finishing it. According to Gearbox, most of the content had already been done by the developers at 3D Realms, though the game was far from finished at that point and they did a lot of work on it afterwards.
