This is something we all have been waiting for, right? Apple has come out with an official release date for the new iPod Touch 4G, and it will start shipping one week from today, on September 10. And, significant enough is the announcement that you can place your pre-orders any time now.

Apple has brought into its new iPod Touch 4G a series of additions, which we believe are quite capable of charming the user. Among the various updates are the iPhone 4′s Retina Display, Apple A4 core, a 3-axis giroscope, Game Center and  FaceTime.

The addition of a frontal camera would make it possible for users to get in to video conferencing mode whenever they want to.  The company has also thrown in a rear camera that comes with support for HD Video.  This feature would help users to capture HD video and even share it via email, MobileMe and YouTube.

Further, with the iMovie app, combining movie clips, adding transitions and themes and the lie would be possible.  Apple has incorporated the A4 chip in the new device so that processor and graphics performance are top of the line. The device would also boast of an extended battery life, says Apple’s PR.

On the pricing front, we hear the iPod Touch 4G with 8GB of storage space would sell for $229, while the iPod Touch 4G with 32GB of storage space  can be picked up for $299. The device with 64GB of storage space will be available for $399.
