StarCraft 2’s First Month Marks 3 Million Sales

September 1, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

Blizzard’s phenomenal StarCraft 2 really showed how much gamers have been anticipating it when it sold over 1 million copies in just one day after it was launched. And now, one month after the game’s release, the number has gone up to 3 million – quite impressive, don’t you think?

Blizzard have stated that they’re very pleased with the public’s reception of their game, as both players and critics alike have been praising it for the amount of work put into it and the near-perfect balance. The statistics include some interesting figures – for example, half of those 3 million copies were sold in just the first 48 hours of the game’s existence on the market.

And while some skeptics have been shaking their heads (and fists) at Blizzard’s decision to split the game in three installments, calling it a “milking” move, those who actually bothered to play the game were quick to express that the amount of content included is absolutely worth the price, and if the 2 upcoming sequels are as well-done – we can’t wait for them either!
