Samsung Galaxy S Gets Beta Android 2.2 Froyo Update

August 31, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Those of you owning a Samsung Galaxy S handset should know that the Android 2.2 Froyo update is now official and available for download.

Leaks about this Froyo update for the Galaxy S have made the rounds online, heavily, but now it’s confirmed (if you remember a Twitter update said “Samsung starts froyo for galaxy s soon!”) that you can have it running on your I9000XXJPC version device.

A very important thing you should know is that Samsung have made it clear that this is in fact a beta version of Android 2.2 for the Galaxy S — so you shouldn’t be surprised if you experience all sorts of bugs.

In case you own a European version of Galaxy S and want the upgrade, try it now and you might see that the GPS performance has been improved.  We guess we will wait for word from Samsung, eh?
