iPhone 4 Proximity Sensor Fix Not Coming with iOS 4.1

Most of you already know about the Apple event that is about to kick in tomorrow. What you don’t know is that rumors have already started to hit the web — some good news, some bad. Well folks, according to recent reports, it looks like Apple won’t bring in a fix for the iPhone 4 proximity sensor with the upcoming iOS 4.1 firmware.

While the new iOS 4.1 won’t bring in a fix for the proximity sensor problem, which we see as a major issue that affects your calling experience (ending the call all of a sudden, transferring it to the external speaker or putting it on hold … with your cheek), we’re expecting it to be more than just a patch against those who’re trying to jailbreak the iPhone.

TheNextWeb reports that “Apple Australia spokeswoman Fiona Martin has acknowledged that the company has yet to fix the proximity sensor issue, something that will have iPhone 4 users up in arms if they download the update, only to find the problems are still apparent.”

If things confirm, Apple will come up with an update to iOS that only approaches a few minor security issues? Why not fix the big flaws guys? It’s been two months now … this doesn’t make sense anymore.
