Apple iPad Shipping Delay Snipped From Weeks to 24 Hours

August 30, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

If you are someone who has been waiting to lay your hands on your first iPad, it seems like your wait is coming to an end. The scene had been one of frustration until now as customers who had placed an order for the Apple device were made to wait close to seven days before they were told that their device was ready to ship.

Apple has now announced that it will start shipping all its six iPad models within 24 orders after receiving an online order.

Now, that sounds impressive, doesn’t it? It is a known fact that demand had been forcing forced Apple to push back shipping times over the past few months.

It now seems like the iPad maker has finally come to terms with production and that explains the 24-hour shipping time. This is admirable considering that iPads ordered through Apple’s online store once took more than two weeks to start shipping.

This August, Apple has been able to cut down on delays and tighten its iPad turnaround time to around three to five days.

The announcement that the device will now be available in just 24 hours after an order has been placed comes cool.

Apple had posted record sales of 1.7 million units of its iPad in just three days of launch and has now sold more than 3.27 million units of the tablet PC in three months time.
