Verizon Droid Incredible to get Froyo update starting today

August 27, 2010, By Thomas Antony

As expected from the leaks yesterday, it is now confirmed that the Verizon Droid Incredible will be getting its share of Froyo goodness, starting today. The news was tweeted through Verizon Wireless’s Support channel.

This should make several owners ( as well as many prospective owners who found the phone out of stock the past couple of months ) very happy, with all the performance improvements and features brought in by Froyo. Major updated features include, pre-install Flash 10.1 plugin, 720p video recording, mobile hotspot support ( like on the Droid X ), and all the other standard Froyo goodies.

The OTA updates will be starting today and will take a couple of weeks to roll out to everyone. Of course, it’s very much possible some kind soul out there will post a manual update sometime soon, so that you don’t have to wait till it updates itself.
