Lotus to Invade Paris Auto Show 2010 With Evora S and Evora IPS Scorchers

August 27, 2010, By Atul Roach

Lotus is all set to invade the 2010 Paris Auto Show with a couple of new models to the Evora lineage which will be dubbed the Evora S and Evora IPS. Before I proceed any further, it is important to mention that Lotus did talk about a couple of Ferrari rivals getting ready in its ranks, which were to break cover at the Paris event and there is widespread speculation that these two Evora variants are ‘probably’ the ones.

Matching the beauties from Modena is never so easy and we will only leave it to the experts who will eventually get behind the wheel to pass the verdict. What we would love to do though is to share the specs so that you people also have a fair idea of what is under the hood and whether there is real potential to challenge the red devils.

Beginning with the Evora S- It will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 Toyota engine which is capable of churning an impressive 345hp. The 0 to 60 miles dash happens in 4.8 seconds while the scorcher will top it out at 172mph. The Evora IPS will be a slightly lower model, but what is noteworthy is the integration of a new six-speed automatic transmission.

The Lotus automobiles have never been famous for their performance however, handling has remained their strong point. With such average specs and an infamous performance repute, we wonder how these two new introductions will challenge the Ferrari might.
