Sanyo has unveiled the VPC-PD2BK Pocket Cam and it comes with a variety of features that can capture your mind. The extremely portable and easy to use cam is capable of shooting Full HD 1080p video at 30fps and can take 10 Megapixel Digital Photos as well. It comes with 3x optical zoom for both video and photos, and also delivers digital image stabilization and face detection. The face chasing technology will automatically read and correct the focus and lighting of the subjects in view.
Video can be recorded in MPEG4/H.264 format and two stereo microphones capture audio recorded in 48 KHz, 16-bit AAC. The PD2 features Sanyo’s embedded software application for sharing videos and photos to social media websites. The recorded video can be viewed on the 2-inch LCD monitor or can be connected to an external display via a mini-HDMI output. It also comes with a built-in speaker.
The PD2 is fully supported by the latest Windows 7 OS, further expanding its capabilities. The cam provides an SD/SDHC slot, but the basic model does not include a memory card in the package.
It comes with a high-capacity Sanyo Brand Lithium-ion Battery, which delivers approximately 65 minutes of video record time and can provide up to 240 minutes of continuous playback. The VPC-PD2BK, which is expected to ship sometime in September, will be coming with an MSRP of $170.
