iPad TV App Shown By Verizon

Verizon are apparently working on a new app for streaming live TV directly on your tablet devices like the Apple iPad, something which we’re definitely looking forward to, as it would solve many problems related to watching TV on the go, plus it has the potential to eliminate the need for a set-top box on your TV set.

Verizon demonstrated their upcoming app in the home of their CTO, Shaygan Kheradpir – the app is part of a service suite called the Fios TV. It uses a Wi-Fi connection to stream live TV from the service provider directly on the iPad, though when the service is launched it will reportedly only work in your home – however, Kheradpir stated that the company is planning to eventually offer the service without restricting the locations of its use, using a simple user/password combination to achieve the goal.

The service works on a cloud computing basis, something which has become noticeably popular among developers in recent times, and we can certainly see why – the convenience that it offers is unmatchable when it comes to offering services of this type.
