Verizon Google Chrome OS Tablet Coming in November

August 18, 2010, By Atul Roach

While we are still not definite about the products against which this Google Chrome OS based tablet will compete, what we are now hearing is that this Google tablet will arrive on Black Friday which implies November 26, 2010. It is the guys over download squad making all the noise, but even we feel like trusting them given the date at which they are hinting. What better a day to launch a product than the busiest shopping day of the year.

The precise specs of this Google Chrome OS based tablet are not yet known, but whatever has percolated through the internet resources is interesting. NVIDIA’s Tegra II option is a powerhouse and it could do wonders for the Verizon subscribers who will get to use this product exclusively.

Other (rumored) features include a 10.1 inch multitouch display (1280 x 720 pixels), 2 GB RAM and a 32 GB internal SSD. Connectivity options will include a webcam, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G.

The tablet will exclusively run on Verizon bands and it is currently being built at the HTC labs and what is more is that Google intends to price it lower than the Apple iPad. It is why we are forced to believe that the Google tablet will compete with the Windows 7 based options and not the iPad.
